In 2022, more and more Swiss SMEs are using Facebook to develop their customer acquisition. Unfortunately, sometimes the experience turns sour due to a lack of knowledge combined with poor strategic choices. For example, if you own a real estate agency or a beauty salon in Switzerland, you probably ask yourself this question very often: How can I attract new customers to my SME?

At Next Level we have discussed with several entrepreneurs from the Lavaux region and we have decided to provide you with 3 key tips to apply for your next acquisition campaign on Facebook and Instagram.

In this article, we'll look at what approaches to use to develop your customer acquisition using Facebook ads 🔥🚀

1. Leverage the power of the Facebook Pixel

Installing the Facebook Pixel is crucial and represents the basis of your strategy when you start with Facebook Ads. It creates a powerful link between your Facebook and Instagram profiles and your website, helping you to collect data and information that is essential to your development. In addition, this data will help you retarget users who are most likely to convert into paying customers.

2. Determine the right type of content for each campaign

Not every Facebook campaign will necessarily focus on the same subset of your target audience. Sometimes different campaigns may be more or less appealing to a particular group simply based on the mix of content types selected for your Facebook ads.

As Sandrine, owner of Laser Lab, a salon dedicated to permanent hair removal in Lutry, explained to us, "In our Facebook campaigns, video has worked much better than static images for acquiring new customers. The opposite was true when we launched our remarketing campaigns, where static images far outperformed video.''

The right creative mix will probably vary depending on your target audience and campaign. Spending time in your research to optimise this mix and adjusting it over time will ensure more successful customer acquisition campaigns!

Tip: When launching a new campaign, consider including a mix of different content (e.g. 2 videos, 2 static images, 1 carousel). Test this mix for a few days and then make adjustments based on performance.

3. Simplify the structure of your campaigns

Facebook has long focused on hyper-targeting to reach highly specific subgroups. Today, many companies are succeeding by moving in the opposite direction - running fewer campaigns and ad sets.

The result? By simplifying ad sets and expanding audiences, these SMEs have generated more clicks, resulting in additional purchases with essentially the same spend.

Very often, less is more. Simplifying your campaigns will make it easier for Facebook's algorithms to optimise them, ensuring that they are presented to the right people.

Tip: Go with wide audiences and let Facebook work for you!
